Experience Excursion
|
Following the official close of the Xpert Summit, Jeff Kallay will lead an “Experience Excursion” Las Vegas style.
Las Vegas is the experience capital of the world! And believe it or not, it offers lessons in rendering authenticity. There’s much more to Vegas than bright lights, fountains and well-known attractions.
Join our Experience Evangelist and view Vegas from a different perspective. He’s hand-picked a series of locations and experiences meant to foster dialogue, creativity and idea exchange, as well as offer you a new perspective on your own campus tour.
Research points to the campus visit as the most trusted source of information about your school so it’s crucial to give prospects an authentic, engaging experience of your campus.
As a national expert on the all-important campus visit, Jeff will help you understand the theories and concepts behind staging experiences. Together you’ll glean insights from outside of higher education and think about ways you can improve your campus visit experience and enroll more best-fit students.
The Experience Excursion is optional and will take place on Friday, February 27th from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Don't forget to indicate your interest when you register for the Xpert Summit!
Contact Jeff Kallay at kallay@targetx.com for more information on our Experience Excursion.
About Jeff Kallay
Jeff began his career in higher education after graduating from a small liberal arts college in Tennessee in 1986. As the only admissions counselor on staff, he gave every tour and planned the college's visitation weekend and summer honor..s program. After a ten-year absence from admissions, he joined a highly creative Atlanta-based marketing firm in a business development role. In his new business efforts there he saw the need for more dialogue and information about the campus visitation programs being offered.
Then in 1999 he read a book, The Experience Economy Work is Theatre and Every Job a Stage, by Pine and Gilmore, published by the Harvard Business School Press. This book outlined the emerging experience economy and the art and science behind staging more compelling experiences. Since then Kallay has attended Pine and Gilmore..s international Experience Economy annual gathering, thinkAbout, as well as other experience economy conferences, and he researches and writes about the topic. In 2006, Jeff won Pine and Gilmore's "Experience Management Achievement Award."
Taking the theories he learned from The Experience Economy, Jeff translates campus visitation programs into more engaging and memorable visits. On average, he tours three to four campuses a month, from large public land grant universities, to small private liberal arts colleges. And he has witnessed some of the best and worst tours along with parents and prospective students from across the country.
